Bangkok luxury residence raided in specialized fraud ring bust

Authorities in Bangkok have raided a luxury residence suspected of serving as a base for a specialized fraud ring targeting Japanese citizens. The operation resulted in the arrest of 15 individuals, including four Japanese nationals and several others, including five Chinese nationals.

Investigators found evidence suggesting the group impersonated Japanese police officers to deceive victims into transferring money by claiming there were suspicious financial transactions. Seized items from the premises included fraudulent police manuals written in Japanese, fake police uniforms, badges, and drugs. The residence, described as being similar to a palace, reportedly had a monthly rent of approximately 4.2 million yen.

Police believe the group was led by Chinese nationals, and authorities are currently searching for a Chinese man suspected of being the mastermind who remains at large in Thailand.
