Bangkok Marathon registrations exceed 70,000 participants

The Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2026 has recorded over 71,435 applicants, placing it among the top five road races globally according to World Athletics certification. The event, scheduled for November 28 to 29, 2026, is part of the World Capital Marathon Series, serving as the season finale for the eight major capital city marathons.

Of the current registrants, 62,463 are Thai nationals and 8,972 are international participants. Officials expect more than 40,000 additional spectators and companions to attend. The Thai government anticipates the event will generate an economic impact exceeding 2.3 billion baht (approximately 10 billion yen).

This initiative aligns with Thailand's strategic shift in tourism policy, moving from a focus on visitor volume to high-value, sustainable revenue through sports tourism. The government aims to establish Thailand as a premier sports hub in Asia.
