Bangkok named world's best nightlife city for 2026

Bangkok has been named the world’s best city for nightlife in the 2026 rankings released by the travel magazine Time Out. The city rose from 13th place last year to secure the top spot, surpassing Berlin, New York City, Melbourne, and São Paulo.

The ranking was determined through a combination of surveys involving more than 24,000 residents across 150 cities and evaluations from over 100 editors and urban experts. Bangkok received high marks for its diversity, vibrancy, inclusivity, safety, and ease of community building. Specifically, 73% of local respondents rated the city’s nightlife as “good” or “amazing,” while the expert panel awarded it a 95% approval score.

Time Out attributed Bangkok’s success to its vast array of options, which include rooftop bars, international clubs, jazz and drag shows, cocktail bars, and late-night street food stalls. The city’s ability to offer a seamless experience between high-end venues and neighborhood street-side spots was a key factor in its recognition.
