Bangladesh Adviser says bomb blasts and arson cannot create political crisis

Zahed Ur Rahman, the Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Adviser, stated that recent violent incidents in Dhaka, including crude bomb explosions and the arson of buses, are insufficient to trigger a political crisis. Speaking at a press briefing at the Secretariat, he emphasized that a democratically elected government is expected to remain in power for a five-year term.

Addressing opposition activities, the adviser noted that while groups are organizing long marches and presenting demands, political pressure should focus on specific government failures rather than attempting to destabilize the administration through violence. He drew comparisons to recent large-scale protests in India, such as the farmers' movement, noting that while such movements can disrupt cities, they did not seek the resignation of the government.
