Bangladesh and Pakistan announce women's cricket squads for Asia Cup and Asian Games

The Bangladesh and Pakistan cricket boards have announced their respective women's squads for the upcoming ACC Women’s Asia Cup and the 20th Asian Games.

Bangladesh will be led by captain Nigar Sultana Joty, with spinner Nahida Akter serving as vice-captain. The squad includes several players who participated in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, such as Shorna Akter, Sobhana Mostary, and Juairiya Ferdous. Bangladesh is scheduled to begin its Asia Cup campaign against Indonesia on August 31. The Asian Games will take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 17 to 22, 2026.

Pakistan has named all-rounder Fatima Sana as captain for both tournaments. The 15-member Asia Cup squad will compete in Group A against India, Thailand, and Hong Kong-China. Pakistan's Asia Cup campaign begins on September 1 against Thailand. For the Asian Games, Pakistan is seeded alongside Thailand and is set to face them in the quarter-finals on September 17.
