Bangladesh and West Indies prepare for Test series amid injury concerns

Bangladesh faces potential selection challenges ahead of their two-match Test series against the West Indies following reports that veteran wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim sustained a hand injury during a training session. Mushfiqur received ice treatment after being struck on the hand during nets, and the severity of the injury remains unconfirmed.

West Indies captain Roston Chase has urged his inexperienced squad to remain adaptable to local conditions. With only five players having previously played Test cricket in Bangladesh, Chase emphasized that the team must respond to the pitch and match situations rather than entering with preconceived notions about seam or spin.

The first Test is scheduled to begin on Wednesday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle. Bangladesh currently holds fourth place in the standings.
