Bangladesh authorities arrest seven over youth development exam leak

Seven individuals, including five government employees, have been arrested in connection with a question paper leak for the assistant youth development officer recruitment examination. The leak occurred prior to a preliminary screening exam for 242 vacant posts, which was scheduled for 10 October for 319,000 applicants. Authorities postponed the test after confirming the breach at 10:03 am.

Investigations by the Special Response Battalion (SRB) revealed that a blurry photograph of the question paper reached a National Board of Revenue (NBR) employee at 4:43 am, followed by a clearer version reaching another NBR computer operator at 6:15 am. An answer sheet was subsequently prepared and circulated to prospective candidates and those attempting to purchase the leaked material.

The arrested individuals include staff from the National Board of Revenue, the Department of Environment, and the Ministry of Defence, alongside two job seekers. During raids in Dhaka and surrounding areas, authorities seized question papers, admission cards, various certificates, stamp papers, bank cheques, and cash.
