Bangladesh coastal regions placed under storm warnings

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued storm warnings for the coastal regions of Noakhali, Chattogram, and Cox's Bazar due to a land depression in the Bay of Bengal. Forecasts indicate that these areas may experience temporary rain or thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds ranging from 45 to 60 km/h.

As a result, the Chattogram and Cox's Bazar sea ports have been placed under local warning signal number 3, while related seaports are under signal number 1. Although the depression is expected to move north-northwest and gradually weaken, gusty winds may continue to affect the coastal areas and the eastern-central and northeastern Bay of Bengal.

Fishing boats and trawlers in the northern Bay of Bengal have been advised to remain close to the coast until further notice. Meanwhile, weather in Dhaka is expected to remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies and temperatures remaining stable.
