Bangladesh cricket faces coaching instability ahead of West Indies series

Bangladesh cricket is experiencing significant administrative and coaching instability ahead of a two-match Test series against the West Indies. Following the recent departure of batting coach Mohammad Ashraful, head coach Phil Simmons addressed concerns regarding the team's internal environment during a press conference in Mirpur.

Simmons responded to questions about organizational chaos by noting that such disruptions are not unprecedented in Bangladesh cricket. He highlighted that the team has had limited collective training time due to players participating in a recent tri-series in the UAE. Despite these challenges, Simmons expressed confidence in the squad's preparation.

Regarding player availability, Simmons confirmed that Litton Das is expected to be available for the Test matches. When asked about potentially reintegrating Mominul Haque into the One Day International middle order, the coach stated he would take the suggestion into consideration. The series, which holds implications for the World Test Championship, begins at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
