Bangladesh economy recovers through private sector-led growth

Bangladesh Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury stated that the nation's economy has undergone a turnaround despite inheriting a devastated financial situation. Speaking at a Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) seminar regarding the FY2026 economic state, the minister attributed this recovery to a private sector-led growth model.

Chowdhury noted that the government's economic philosophy, under the current Prime Minister, focuses on a private-sector-driven economy where the public sector acts as a facilitator. He emphasized that increasing investment remains essential to sustaining this growth and creating an enabling environment for businesses.
