Bangladesh envoy describes India-Bangladesh ties as organic

As his tenure concludes, Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Riaz Hamidullah has characterized the relationship between India and Bangladesh as ‘organic’ and rooted in mutual interdependence.

Hamidullah emphasized that while the two nations may encounter differences in views, perspectives, or approaches due to their shared geography, it is essential to maintain continuous dialogue and engagement. He noted that such engagement is in the shared interests of both countries.

Reflecting on his personal history, Hamidullah recalled his time as a student at Aligarh Muslim University starting in 1990, which helped him understand India’s diverse social and cultural landscape. He advocated for expanding people-to-people ties, particularly through educational institutions, students, and cultural exchanges, to deepen the connection beyond state-to-state relations.
