Bangladesh National Parliament begins third session

The third session of the 13th National Parliament of Bangladesh is scheduled to begin on Thursday, August 27, at 3:00 PM. The session is expected to be brief, potentially lasting between five and ten days, though officials noted the duration could be extended if necessary.

Key legislative priorities include the introduction of several significant bills. Notable among these is a proposed property transfer law designed to protect the rights of parents, ensuring they retain the right to use and enjoy property even after transferring ownership to their children. Other anticipated legislation includes the National Human Rights Commission Act 2026, the Special Response Battalion Act 2026, and amendments to the Bank Resolution Act 2026.
