Bangladesh observes World Post Day 2026

Bangladesh is observing World Post Day 2026 with a week-long program titled ‘Postal Service Week’ running from October 9 to October 15. The theme for this year is ‘Integrated Postal Network, Limitless Possibilities.’

To mark the occasion, the Bangladesh Post Office held a discussion meeting at the Postal Building in Agargaon, Dhaka, presided over by Director General Kazi Asadul Islam, with Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division Bilkis Jahan Rimi attending as the chief guest. As part of the celebrations, general postal services will remain operational at all levels of the department today and tomorrow, though savings bank activities will be suspended.

Various events are scheduled across the country, including a special letter festival at Cox's Bazar beach and letter festivals, philatelic exhibitions, and postal service fairs at several universities. The department aims to leverage modern technology and its extensive network to provide fast, affordable logistics and postal services to citizens, transitioning from traditional mail to a technology-driven logistics provider.
