Bangladesh officials inspect Chinese naval vessels in Chittagong

Bangladesh's Defense Adviser to the Prime Minister, Brigadier General (Retd) AKM Shamsul Islam, and Navy Chief Admiral Khondkar Misbah Ul Azim visited Chinese naval vessels ‘Tang Shan’ and ‘Da Qing’ in Chittagong.

The visit, which included the Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh and naval officials, focused on exploring modern naval technology, security systems, and strengthening bilateral maritime cooperation. Discussions between the officials and Chinese crew members emphasized mutual trust, professional knowledge exchange, and enhanced military training.

The Chinese vessels arrived at Chittagong port on September 17 for a five-day goodwill visit. As the ships depart Bangladeshi waters, they are scheduled to participate in the ‘PASSEX’ joint exercise to further bolster maritime security and cooperation between the two nations.
