Bangladesh pacer Ebadot Hossain to miss Australia Test series
Bangladesh’s leading fast bowler Ebadot Hossain will miss the two‑match Test series against Australia that starts in Darwin on 13 August as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025‑27. The bowler is staying in Bangladesh to welcome his first child.
The team also faces uncertainty over fellow pacer Nahid Rana, who is awaiting scans on a side injury, while wicket‑keeper batter Litton Das hopes to recover from a calf problem before the tour. Bangladesh will arrive early in Australia and play a three‑day warm‑up match against a Cricket Australia XI in Darwin from 3 August. Batting coach Mohammad Ashraful said the early arrival should allow the side to prepare adequately despite the fitness concerns.
Ashraful expressed confidence in the batting line‑up, citing recent strong performances, including a 2‑0 Test series sweep of Pakistan earlier in the year.
