Bangladesh PMO spokesperson vows no political leniency for recent crimes

Mahdi Amin, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced a zero-tolerance policy regarding recent incidents of land grabbing, attacks, and vandalism. He emphasized that the government will provide no political leniency to perpetrators, regardless of their affiliations.

Specific enforcement actions include the arrest of 13 individuals involved in an attempted takeover at Chand Udyan, 11 people regarding land grabbing attempts in Shyamoli Housing, 13 people following an attack on the Mirpur Radda MCH-FP Center, and 7 people for vandalism at a content creator's studio in the ECB premises. The Ministry of Home Affairs is managing these legal proceedings to ensure stability.

Additionally, Amin addressed the appointment of Zaima Rahman as a P-3 level Legal Officer for the President of the 81st UN General Assembly. He clarified that the appointment was based on merit through the United Nations' own human resources processes and that the Bangladesh government had no involvement, recommendation, or financial connection to the recruitment.
