Bangladesh police conduct major anti-crime operations in Chandpur and Khulna

Police in Chandpur and Khulna have conducted extensive operations targeting narcotics, illegal weapons, and gang activity.

In Chandpur, district police arrested 11 individuals in connection with the possession of 198 yaba tablets. Additionally, 76 people were detained on suspicion of involvement with ‘teen gangs’ across various police stations, including Chandpur Sadar, Hajiganj, and Kachua. Many of the detained minors were released into the custody of their guardians following verification processes.

In Khulna, special operations conducted between October 6 and October 13 resulted in the arrest of 255 individuals. During these raids, police seized 688 pieces of yaba, approximately 5.9 kilograms of cannabis, 20 liters of local liquor, a pistol, a magazine, and two rounds of ammunition. The operations also targeted suspects involved in murder and robbery cases. Furthermore, police conducted traffic enforcement drives, inspecting 1,785 motorcycles to maintain road discipline.
