Bangladesh authorities conduct major drug and gang crackdowns

Law enforcement agencies in Bangladesh have conducted several successful operations against narcotics and juvenile gangs. In Chandpur, district police arrested 20 individuals in a 24-hour anti-drug drive, seizing 51 pieces of yaba and 293 grams of cannabis. Simultaneously, police detained 70 members of juvenile gangs across various police stations, later releasing them into the custody of their guardians.

In the Bandarban district, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) conducted two separate operations near the Gumdhum border. In one raid, BGB personnel arrested two FDMN members in possession of 10,000 Burmese yaba tablets. A subsequent operation near the border recovered an additional 190,000 abandoned yaba tablets. The BGB confirmed that legal proceedings have been initiated following these seizures.
