Bangladesh seeks expanded labor cooperation with South Korea

Md Nurul Hoque, Bangladesh’s State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, is engaging in high-level discussions to expand job opportunities for Bangladeshi workers in South Korea.

In Seoul, the Minister met with representatives from the National Employment Services Association of Korea (NESA) and the Construction Association of Korea (CAK). The talks focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation through the government-approved Employment Permit System (EPS), seasonal employment, and vocational training. The Minister emphasized the need for Korean language education and skill development to ensure workers meet the specific demands of the South Korean labor market.

As part of a broader diplomatic and industrial visit, the Minister is also scheduled to visit industrial sites in Chungbuk, South Korea. This includes inspecting manufacturing facilities and engaging with local labor-management cultures to better understand working environments. The visit aims to explore practical cooperation in manpower development, worker welfare, and cultural exchange between the two nations.
