Bangladesh SSC re-scrutiny results: 4,585 students pass

The re-scrutiny results for the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations have been released across 11 education boards in Bangladesh. Following the re-evaluation process, 4,585 students who had previously failed have now passed, and 3,079 candidates have secured a GPA-5.

This year's process differed from previous years as answer scripts underwent a complete re-evaluation rather than just a check for calculation errors. A total of 402,051 candidates applied for the review, resulting in 27,836 grade changes and 55,259 instances of mark adjustments.

The Dhaka Education Board saw the highest volume of activity, with 94,236 applicants. In the Rajshahi Board, 111 students passed after re-scrutiny.

Amidst the results, allegations surfaced regarding the Rajshahi Board, where teachers were reportedly called in late at night to conduct additional reviews of Mathematics and English scripts. The Chairman of the Education Board, Professor Dr. Shamim Ara Chowdhury, stated that the late-night sessions were necessary to complete the work and transfer marks to BUET due to tight deadlines, noting that certain subjects required more thorough inspection due to high failure rates.
