Bangladesh, EU, and UK agree to tackle migration crime and boost legal labor mobility
Bangladesh and the European Union have agreed to collaborate on combating human trafficking and irregular migration while expanding opportunities for skilled Bangladeshi workers in the European labor market. During bilateral meetings, EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner and Bangladeshi officials discussed the ‘Talent Partnership’ project, which aims to facilitate legal migration through internationally recognized training and certification in sectors such as IT, construction, textiles, and hospitality.
In a separate development, Bangladesh and the United Kingdom have established a new framework to tackle organized immigration crime. This agreement focuses on enhancing information sharing and operational cooperation to disrupt fraudulent migration schemes, visa fraud, and criminal networks that exploit vulnerable individuals through unsafe routes.
