Bangladesh Supreme Court schedules hearings for high-profile murder appeals
The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh has set dates for final appeal hearings in three major murder cases. Attorney General Ruhul Kuddus Kajol confirmed that the hearings will proceed once the court reopens following its vacation.
Scheduled dates include the Narayanganj seven-murder case on November 17, the Abrar Fahad murder case on November 24, and the Major Sinha murder case on December 1. These cases follow High Court rulings that upheld death sentences previously handed down by trial courts.
The Narayanganj case involves the 2014 abduction and murder of seven individuals. The Abrar Fahad case concerns the 2019 killing of a BUET student. The Major Sinha case involves the 2020 shooting death of retired Army Major Sinha Md Rashed Khan by police in Teknaf.
