Bangladeshi Albino Buffalo “Donald Trump” Saved from Eid Sacrifice

A rare 700‑kg albino buffalo in Bangladesh, nicknamed “Donald Trump” because of its blond hair, was slated for slaughter as part of the Eid al‑Adha animal‑sacrifice festivities. After videos of the animal went viral on social media, Interior Minister Salakhutdin Akhmed issued a last‑minute order to halt the sacrifice, citing safety concerns and unusually high public interest. The buyer was compensated and the buffalo was transferred to Dhaka Zoo. The owner said the nickname was suggested by his younger brother. “At the last moment a decision was taken not to sacrifice the buffalo due to safety concerns and the unusually high public interest,” a ministry official said.
