Milanese man arrested in Rome after 300‑kg hashish seizure

Police arrested a 47‑year‑old man from Milan in Rome’s Magliana district after investigators linked him to a large drug operation. A raid on an apartment he rented uncovered about 300 kg of hashish, packed in more than 2,300 individual units and valued at roughly one million euros. The seizure also included thermal suitcases, a refrigerator/freezer used for storage, and equipment for weighing and packaging the drugs.

The investigation began after officers observed the suspect’s suspicious behaviour during a night patrol. He was stopped while driving a car that contained an additional 50 kg of hashish in a suitcase. After questioning, he could not explain his presence in the neighborhood. The arrest was later validated by a judicial authority and the seized narcotics and equipment were confiscated.
