Banglalink's Toffee platform records 2 billion watch minutes during FIFA World Cup 2026 in Bangladesh

VEON Ltd. reported that Toffee, the digital entertainment platform of its Bangladeshi operator Banglalink, delivered the country's largest paid streaming experience for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Over the 39‑day tournament the service logged 200 million total views and more than 2 billion live watch minutes, with 20 million monthly active users and 6.6 million unique viewers averaging 300 minutes each. Peak concurrency reached 1.5 million viewers, and 23 % of the audience watched on connected TVs. The final match generated the highest engagement, recording 180 million watch minutes, 1.5 million unique viewers and over 8 million total views. The platform also attracted extensive advertising demand, with over 25 brands partnering and roughly 80 % of ad inventory sold before the tournament began.

VEON Group CEO Kaan Terzioğlu said the event shows how digital operators can turn connectivity into “meaningful digital experiences that bring millions of people together,” while Banglalink CEO Johan Buse highlighted the strong response from users and advertisers as a validation of Toffee’s market position in Bangladesh.
