Banglamung motorcycle taxi drivers switch to blue vests

Authorities in the Banglamung district of Chonburi have begun transitioning the official vests of motorcycle taxi drivers from orange to blue. The initiative covers 5,281 registered drivers in the Pattaya area and aims to create a more modern image for the region's tourism industry.

Chonburi Deputy Governor Pongsith Pijanan presided over the official launch at the Alcazar Theater in Pattaya. The reorganization includes the standardization of 554 official waiting stations and the implementation of stricter regulations. Officials stated that the change is intended to help residents and tourists easily identify legitimate, registered drivers, thereby increasing confidence in safety and legality.

The decision follows a resolution by a local subcommittee in November 2025. To publicize the change, a procession of drivers wearing the new blue vests was held following a training session on local rules and regulations.
