Banja Luka authorities sanction hundreds of drivers and pedestrians

In a 48-hour period, authorities in Banja Luka issued sanctions to 496 drivers and 374 pedestrians for traffic violations. Traffic safety inspector Tihomir Tadić noted that despite a high number of fatal accidents, rule-breaking remains widespread.

Key factors contributing to accidents include uncontrolled speed, driver inattention, and the use of mobile phones or headphones, particularly when pedestrians are crossing streets. Tadić emphasized that pedestrians are the most vulnerable category and urged all road users to maintain patience and follow signaling to prevent tragedies.
