Banja Luka officials deny Mayor's involvement in video shoot using firefighters
The City Administration of Banja Luka has issued a denial regarding allegations that Mayor Draško Stanivuković was involved in a video production at the Central Monument. The administration clarified that the firefighters from the Professional Territorial Firefighting and Rescue Unit were deployed at the request of the Unison production board and the Hilandar Monastery Business Office to provide technical assistance for a music video.
The video, featuring singer Anđela Kulić for the song ‘Srpska republika’, required a controlled water effect to simulate rain. The administration noted that the intervention lasted from 16:30 to 20:00 on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
Controversy has arisen due to reports that the firefighters were engaged in this three-and-a-half-hour production on the same day they responded to three separate open fires in the Banja Luka area. This has led to public questions regarding the use of public resources and the impact on emergency service availability.
