Banja Luka transport providers seek fare increases

Public transport providers in Banja Luka, including Autoprevoz GS, Bočac tours, and Pavlović turs, have requested a price increase for city and suburban transport. The proposal seeks to raise the standard ticket price from 2.30 KM to 3.10 KM.

Some intercity routes have already seen price hikes due to rising fuel costs and operational challenges. For example, monthly worker passes from Banja Luka to Slatina have increased from 75 KM to 90 KM, while the pass to Klašnica rose from 90 KM to 100 KM. Monthly passes to Laktaš have increased from 95 KM to 105 KM, and the pass to Srbac has risen from 180 KM to 200 KM.

Dejan Mijić, director of Autoprevoz Gradski saobraćaj, stated that this is the third request for a price increase submitted to the City Assembly. He noted that the current price list was adopted in 2022 and that rising costs for other communal services have impacted the industry. Under the new proposal, a single monthly pass for workers could cost up to 104 KM.
