Banjaluka-Prijedor highway expected to be completed in two years

Radovan Višković, acting director of the public enterprise Autoputevi Republike Srpske, announced that the approximately 40-kilometer highway connecting Banjaluka and Prijedor could be completed within two years.

The construction is being carried out by the Chinese company Shandong. While the concession for the project was signed in 2018, Višković noted that numerous issues had to be resolved, including the signing of approximately 45 contract annexes. Financing was secured following approval from China's Exim Bank and other state banks last September.

Višković stated that construction work has intensified and that Shandong is contractually obligated to complete the project within three years of starting construction. He emphasized that the contractor is responsible for construction and technical documentation, while the investor handles expropriation and legal property relations.
