Banjarbaru adjusts school hours due to forest fire haze

The Banjarbaru Education Office has adjusted school schedules and learning activities in response to thick haze caused by forest and land fires. Under a new circular, schools affected by the smoke may implement situational changes, such as starting classes at 09:00 WITA.

To protect student health, dismissal times have been adjusted: 11:30 WITA for early childhood education, 14:00 WITA for elementary schools, and 15:00 WITA for junior high schools. Additionally, schools are advised to move outdoor activities indoors depending on the density of the smoke. Some institutions have already postponed outdoor events, such as independence day celebrations, due to the heavy haze.
