Bank Holidays Announced in Mexico and Venezuela for June 2026
Mexico's banking sector confirmed that all branches will remain open on 11 June 2026, the day of the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony, to avoid disruption for customers despite nationwide traffic‑reduction measures. The Association of Banks of Mexico (ABM) stated that both retail counters and corporate transaction desks will operate as usual across the country.
In Venezuela, the Superintendence of Banking Institutions (Sudeban) announced a nationwide banking holiday on 8 June 2026 in observance of Corpus Christi. While physical branches and teller windows will be closed, online platforms, ATMs, and electronic payment points will continue to function for customers.
Both announcements emphasize the continuity of digital banking services during the respective holidays.
