Bank Indonesia promotes halal ecosystem and MSME growth

Bank Indonesia is intensifying efforts to strengthen the halal ecosystem and MSME competitiveness through regional initiatives and national showcases.

In Situbondo, the Bank Indonesia Jember Representative Office and the Situbondo Regency Government held the SAMARA 2026 event. This initiative aims to accelerate the halal ecosystem to position Indonesia as a global halal hub. The program included MSME product exhibitions, digital payment promotion via QRIS, and national seminars at the Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Sukorejo Islamic Boarding School to discuss the role of various stakeholders in the halal value chain.

Additionally, Aceh was designated as the thematic region for the 2026 Karya Kreatif Indonesia (KKI) event held in Jakarta. Marlina Usman, Chairperson of the Aceh Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda), emphasized the need for Aceh's MSMEs to innovate and utilize digital technology to penetrate national and international markets. The focus remains on sectors such as textiles, crafts, and culinary products, supported by the theme ‘Beudaya Meusare-Sare’ to encourage cross-sector synergy.
