Bank Indonesia reports QRIS transaction value reaches Rp600.69 trillion

Bank Indonesia said the volume of digital Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) transactions hit 12.55 billion in the first half of 2026, while the total transaction value rose to Rp600.69 trillion, an 89.5 % year‑on‑year increase. Deputy Governor Filianingsih Hendarta noted the growth reflects a shift away from cash as consumers increasingly use smartphone‑based QR code payments.

The service is now used by about 66 million Indonesians and accepted at roughly 44.86 million merchants, most of which are micro, small and medium‑size enterprises. Bank Indonesia’s targets for 2026 are 70 million users and 47 million merchants, meaning the mid‑year figures already show strong progress toward those goals.
