Bank Mandiri bolsters financial inclusion as Indonesian banks intensify wealth‑management race
Bank Mandiri affirmed its commitment to strengthen Indonesia’s economic resilience by expanding a financial‑inclusion ecosystem. The state‑owned bank highlighted the growth of its Mandiri Agent network to 111,035 outlets, the opening of about 3.5 million new accounts, support for 963 000 borrowers of the People’s Business Credit (KUR) scheme, and assistance to 531 village and district cooperatives. Deputy President Director Henry Panjaitan said the goal is to provide safe, convenient services to families, migrant workers and micro‑businesses across the country.
At the same time, Indonesia’s banking sector is intensifying competition for high‑net‑worth clients. OCBC NISP reported a 29% compound annual growth rate in wealth‑management assets under management from 2022‑2025 and introduced new tools such as Wealth Discovery and Wealth Report to offer comprehensive portfolio monitoring, wealth preservation and transfer advice. PT Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) likewise expanded its BTN Prioritas and BTN Private offerings, noting that affluent‑segment deposits now exceed 40% of its total customer funds and emphasizing a relationship‑focused, premium service model.
