Bank Mandiri Enables Contactless Credit Card Payments on MRT Jakarta
Bank Mandiri has installed an EMV‑based acquiring system that lets passengers ride the MRT Jakarta by tapping a contactless Visa or Mastercard credit card at gate turnstiles. The rollout, launched on 29 July 2026, makes the Jakarta MRT the first public‑transport service in Indonesia to adopt the global EMV standard used in more than 150 world cities.
Deputy President Director Henry Panjaitan said the service expands the bank’s digital‑payment ecosystem and offers commuters a faster, safer way to travel. In addition to card tap‑in, Mandiri’s Livin’ app on Android devices with NFC can be used for “Tap to Pay” without logging in. A 50 % cashback promotion – up to Rp5,000 per trip – is available to Mandiri credit‑card users at all MRT stations from 29 July to 31 August 2026.
