Bank Negara Indonesia wins Leadership in Corporate Governance award
Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) has received the ‘Leadership in Corporate Governance’ award at the 17th IICD Corporate Governance Award 2026. This achievement marks the second consecutive year the bank has maintained this top distinction, having previously moved from the ‘Best Overall’ category in 2025 to ‘Leadership in Corporate Governance’ in 2026.
During the ceremony held at the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Jakarta, BNI was also recognized as one of the ‘Top 50 Emiten BigCap Public Listed Companies’ and achieved the best governance implementation within the KBMI 4 group (banks with large core capital).
The evaluation by the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship (IICD) utilized the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) methodology. This framework assesses public companies on several critical factors, including information transparency, board responsibility, sustainability, and the protection of shareholder rights. BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that the award serves as a foundation for maintaining the trust of shareholders, customers, and stakeholders.
