Bank of Agriculture and AFAN to finance 400,000 Nigerian farmers
The Bank of Agriculture (BOA) has entered into a partnership with the All-Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) to provide financing for approximately 400,000 farmers for the 2026 dry-season farming cycle.
Implemented under the BOA’s Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value Chain Fund, the initiative aims to support year-round agricultural production by providing access to financing, production inputs, and irrigation equipment. This support is intended to reduce reliance on rainfall and improve the availability of locally produced food across Nigeria.
Under the agreement, AFAN will identify eligible farmers within its national network and provide data regarding their locations, commodities, and farm sizes. The partnership will utilize Farmer Aggregation Companies (FACs) to coordinate the allocation of approved financing and the deployment of necessary production requirements to the farmers.
