Bank of America pledges $250 billion for U.S. infrastructure

Bank of America has announced the launch of its ‘Critical Infrastructure Finance Initiative,’ a plan to deploy $250 billion toward U.S. infrastructure projects through July 4, 2027. The 18-month program, which begins in January 2026, is designed to coincide with the United States' 250th anniversary.

The initiative focuses on three primary sectors: digital infrastructure (including data centers, semiconductors, and telecommunications), energy and power (encompassing renewable generation, energy storage, and distribution), and core infrastructure (such as transportation, water systems, and critical minerals). The bank intends to support these projects through primary market lending, investments, capital markets services, and advisory offerings.

Bank executives, including Co-President Jim DeMare and global head of infrastructure Karen Fang, stated that the initiative aims to bolster American economic competitiveness, energy security, and technological leadership. The program is expected to facilitate job creation across the construction, manufacturing, and technology sectors. This move follows similar large-scale infrastructure financing commitments from other major Wall Street institutions, including Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan Chase.
