Bank of America to hire 1,000 apprentices and invest $150M in workforce development

Bank of America has announced plans to hire 1,000 additional apprentices over the next two years, augmenting the more than 800 apprentices the company already recruits annually. These new positions will span various departments, including consumer banking, technology, operations, and other client-facing roles.

In addition to the hiring expansion, the bank is committing $150 million over five years to workforce development organizations across the United States. This investment aims to support programs that equip individuals with in-demand skills and connect them to career opportunities. This follows a nearly $40 million investment made by the bank in 2025.

CEO Brian Moynihan stated that these programs underscore the company’s commitment to expanding opportunity and helping individuals develop necessary skills. The apprenticeship model provides structured, paid, work-based learning designed to create pathways to long-term careers for those without a bachelor’s degree. The bank noted that approximately 40 percent of its current hires do not hold a four-year degree.
