Bank of Cyprus ranked among world's top performing banks by Forbes

Bank of Cyprus has been ranked 19th among 102 medium-sized banks globally in the inaugural ‘World's Top Performing Banks 2026’ list by Forbes, produced in collaboration with Statista. The institution was the only Cypriot bank included in the rankings.

Classified in the Tier 4 category—comprising banks with assets between $20 billion and $50 billion—the ranking evaluated 500 banks across 89 countries. The assessment was based on four objective financial parameters: profitability (30%), growth and quality of earnings (20%), capital and funding resilience (25%), and asset quality and efficiency (25%).

CEO Panikos Nikolaou stated that the recognition confirms the bank’s resilience, financial strength, and the consistent implementation of its strategy. He noted that the ranking, based on objective data, validates the bank’s strong capital base and sustainable business model.
