Bank of England rate hike projected by markets for 2027

Financial markets are projecting that the Bank of England will not implement its next interest rate hike until 2027. While many economists anticipate the central bank will maintain rates at 3.75% throughout the year, market pricing suggests a different outlook, which Governor Andrew Bailey attributed to risks involving the US-Iran conflict.

The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee has held the base rate steady for five consecutive meetings. Recent data indicates UK consumer prices rose to 2.9% in July, influenced by increased household energy costs. Meanwhile, the labor market has remained subdued, a factor the committee has identified as a primary concern for long-term inflation.
