The Bank of Ghana (BoG) conducted a high-level Regional Stakeholder Engagement Forum in Techiman on October 12, 2026. Held under the theme ‘Strengthening Stakeholder Relations Through Dialogue and Engagement’, the event is part of a 16-regional outreach programme designed to clarify the central bank's mandate and increase public confidence in the financial system.

The forum hosted 150 participants from the Bono East Region, including traditional and religious leaders, trader associations, SMEs, microfinance institutions, and security agencies. Technical experts from the Bank's Banking Supervision, Other Financial Institutions Supervision, Financial Stability, and Currency Management departments delivered presentations to facilitate direct feedback between the regulator and the public.

Bernard Otabil, Director of Communications, emphasized that stakeholder trust is essential for effective monetary policy, stating, ‘The Cedi is not just paper. It is trust. It is a social contract between the Bank of Ghana and every Ghanaian.’
