Bank of Ireland names James Magill as new Chief People Officer
Bank of Ireland has appointed James Magill as its Chief People Officer, effective November. Magill joins from Vodafone, where he most recently served as Human Resources Director for Vodafone EU Markets and Group Commercial, overseeing people, organisation and culture strategies across multiple European markets and more than 40,000 employees.
Magill’s previous roles include senior leadership positions at Vodafone and Accenture in Ireland, the UK, Europe and New Zealand, where he led large‑scale transformation programmes, HR digitalisation, talent development and employee‑experience initiatives. Group Chief Executive Myles O’Grady said Magill will play a leading role in shaping the bank’s people and culture agenda to support its strategic goals and build an inclusive, high‑performing environment.
