Bank of Palestine tower in Gaza to be demolished

The Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Bank of Palestine, and the Arab International Reconstruction Authority in Palestine have signed an agreement in Ramallah to demolish the damaged Bank of Palestine tower in Gaza City.

The project aims to remove the building and its resulting debris due to severe structural damage sustained during the war, which has rendered the tower unstable and dangerous to the surrounding area. The agreement includes the technical processing of rubble and waste generated from the demolition to ensure safety and mitigate risks to residents and property.

Minister of Public Works and Housing, Ahed Basiso, stated that the intervention is urgent to address buildings at risk of collapse and to prepare the necessary environment for recovery and reconstruction. Mohammed Abu Aqleen, director of the Arab International Reconstruction Authority's office in Palestine, noted that the proper handling of debris is a fundamental step in the reconstruction process.
