Bank of the Philippine Islands names Maria Cristina Go as CEO
The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has announced a leadership succession plan, naming Maria Cristina “Ginbee” L. Go as the bank’s next President and Chief Executive Officer. Go, currently the Executive Vice President and Head of Consumer Banking, is scheduled to officially take over the role on April 26, 2027.
Go will succeed Jose Teodoro “TG” K. Limcaoco, who has served as CEO since 2021. Following the transition, Limcaoco is expected to remain on the bank’s board. The appointment marks a historic milestone for the 175-year-old institution, as Go will be its first female CEO.
A 23-year veteran of the bank, Go previously led BPI Family Savings Bank through its integration into the main institution. Her career includes leadership roles at Citibank, Ayala Land, and Procter & Gamble. The transition remains subject to the bank’s annual stockholders’ meeting and necessary regulatory approvals.
