Bank Pocztowy integrates mObywatel for faster mobile app activation

Bank Pocztowy has introduced a streamlined activation process for its mobile banking application by integrating with the mObywatel digital identity tool. This update allows new customers to set up their mobile banking without needing to first establish internet banking credentials on a computer.

The new procedure significantly reduces the steps required for setup. The number of screens has been reduced from 11 to 7, and the total activation time has dropped from approximately 5 minutes to between 1 and 2 minutes. Additionally, the number of required SMS verification messages has been lowered from four to one.

Users can choose between the new mObywatel-based method—which requires only a PESEL or Customer Identification Number (NIK) and identity confirmation via the state app—or an improved version using existing internet banking passwords. The bank also supports biometric login options, such as fingerprint or Face ID, following the initial configuration.
