Bank Rakyat Indonesia launches youth banking service and wins global SME awards

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) has launched BRImo Junior, a mobile banking service designed for customers aged up to 17 years. The service aims to promote early financial literacy by allowing children to manage savings accounts and perform digital payments under parental supervision. The platform utilizes a ‘split user’ concept, enabling parents to create up to five BRImo Junior accounts within a single primary account to monitor transactions and set usage limits.

Separately, BRI has received international recognition from Global Finance at the Best SME Bank Awards 2027. The bank was named ‘Best Bank for Agriculture and Rural SMEs’ globally and ‘Best SME Bank in Indonesia 2027’. BRI President Director Hery Gunardi stated that the award recognizes the bank’s consistency in empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and its role as a development agent focused on the grassroots economy.
