Bank Rakyat Indonesia expands UMKM support, backs SAL liquidity and drives corporate transformation
Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) inaugurated the BRIncubator 2026 program, offering intensive mentorship, digitalisation and export‑readiness to micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) in the Food & Beverage, Fashion & Beauty and Home Decor & Craft sectors. Director of Micro BRI, Akhmad Purwakajaya, said the initiative aims to raise UMKM competitiveness domestically and globally.
BRI also endorsed the government’s Saldo Anggaran Lebih (SAL) cash‑management instrument, with President Director Hery Gunardi noting that the added liquidity will help banks maintain stable intermediation and extend quality credit to productive sectors, especially UMKM. The bank reported Q1‑2026 assets of Rp2.250 trillion (up 7.2 %) and credit of Rp1.562 trillion (up 13.7 %).
In parallel, BRI announced its BRIvolution Reignite transformation framework, targeting stronger funding, CASA growth, transaction banking and core‑banking upgrades to sustain profitability and market share.
State‑owned Holding Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN I) director Abdul Rivai Ras highlighted an accelerated transformation agenda for the plantation group, stressing modernisation, professionalisation, digitalisation and job creation across Indonesia’s agribusiness sector.
The SIEXPO 2026 exhibition in Pekanbaru introduced a Booth Exhibitor Award to recognise creativity and innovation among participants, including UMKM, cooperatives and research institutions, with chair Qayuum Amri urging continued ecosystem development.
