Bank Tabungan Negara former employee named suspect in Rp3.29 billion embezzlement case

The Sidoarjo District Attorney's Office has named a former employee of Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN), identified as AH, a suspect in a corruption case involving the mismanagement of funds. The alleged embezzlement occurred at the BTN Sidoarjo Branch and the Tropodo Sub-Branch Office between 2020 and 2024, resulting in estimated state losses of approximately Rp3.29 billion.

According to Sigit Sambodo, Head of the Special Crimes Section at the Sidoarjo District Attorney's Office, AH allegedly used unauthorized access to inter-branch accounts to illegally transfer funds into personal accounts. The suspect, who previously served as the Accounting Control Unit Head in Sidoarjo and later as the Head of the Tropodo Sub-Branch, reportedly used the user IDs and passwords of several other employees without their knowledge to facilitate 24 separate fund transfers.
